About

The Lakeshore Community Labor Council, AFL-CIO, is located on the west coast of Michigan, and is an affiliation of local unions throughout Ottawa, Muskegon, Newaygo, Oceana, Lake, Mason, Manistee and northern Allegan Counties, partnered with community organizations to raise the standard of living for working people and create stronger communities through collective action and service to others. The Lakeshore CLC is based in Muskegon, Michigan.

 

Mission: 
To be an advocate for all working families through collective action, education and community partnerships.

 

Vision:
Collectively, we will create a powerful middle class in West Michigan where working men and women have access to safe jobs that pay a living wage, have greater access to health care and an opportunity to pursue the American dream.

 

Values:
To highlight the increasing income inequality in our community and redefine organized labor by focusing on all of the positive contributions to our society made by Unions, past, present and future.
